Knitwear sector hoping to benefit from UK textile plan
Friday, 02 November 2012

London - UK Secretary of State for Business Vince Cable will today be joined by British designer Sir Paul Smith and David Wootton, the Lord Mayor of the City of London, to back a plan which could help resurrect the UK textile manufacturing sector and create up to 200,000 new jobs.

Speaking at an event in London billed ?A New Dawn: Rebuilding UK Textile Manufacturing?, the UK Business Secretary is expected to give his support to a new industry plan to open new clothing factories in the UK, and to shorten supply chains.
