New York - The Dow Chemical Co is to cease production of Dow XLA stretch fibre, heralded as the world?s first olefin-based stretch fibre that was resistant to harsh chemicals and high heat, over the next six to 18 months.
Part of the Dow Fiber Solutions (DFS) business, the move is part of Dow's decision to look for cost savings across its entire company and will be a blow to the growing number of circular knitters and swimwear manufacturers that have been introducing the fibre to their collections over the last couple of years.
