Shanghai - Karl Mayer reported a busy stand at this year’s Shanghaitex exhibition with the high level of visitors resulting in the sale of one of the warp knitting machine builder’s new models on day one.

The models on show, a new terry tricot machine type TS EL, a performance-enhanced HKS 4-M and a Multibar Jacquardtronic Lace type MJ 59/1 S with special guide bar configuration – were in motion demonstrating their overall efficiency and excellent price-performance ratio.

“Just on the first day our stand was well attended at all times,” said Oliver Mathews, Sales Vice President of the Warp Knitting Business Unit, adding that he was very pleased with the successful start of the fair.

In general, most visitors were from the key textile regions of Southeast Asia and the Middle East - i.e. from China as well as India, Indonesia, Korea and Vietnam.

Mr Mathews was also keen to add that while the number of visitors was acceptable, Karl Mayer was also encouraged by the general mood at the trade fair. “As expected, there is a rather subdued demand from China but on the whole one can observe a great interest in Karl Mayer’s innovations and can see customers’ willingness to invest in new machines,” he said. “Already on the first day of ShanghaiTex Karl Mayer managed to sell one of its newly developed machines.”

Karl Mayer can found in Hall W1, Stand C01 during ShanghaiTex.
