Leicester - Monarch Knitting Machinery U.K. Ltd has spent the last 50 years helping knitting mills run more efficiently and more creatively.

As we head towards this year's ITMA exhibition in Barcelona, Leicester, UK-based Monarch Knitting Machinery is celebrating 50 years of continuous service to its customers.

A major exhibitor since the Milan edition of 1975, Monarch has found ITMA to be an ideal platform for the introduction and launch of a wide range of single and double jersey circular knitting machines.

With a reputation for quality, service and advanced technology and by working closely with customers and the ultimate end-users, the company has successfully designed and developed leading models for a wide range of applications including home textiles, apparel, lingerie, intimates, swimwear, sportswear and technical textiles.

This year will be no different, and as the company's managing director David Brunton explains, Monarch is heading to Barcelona buoyed by a strong performance in the intervening years since Milan 2015.

"Much of the recent talk around the industry has been of doom and gloom," he says, adding, that for Monarch, the opposite is true. "Yes, some markets have slowed down. But in general, our biggest market, Europe, still seems to be doing well with a continued demand for Monarch's high-tech machines. It's mainly electronic and fine gauge models where we do very well. We have a very good range of machines including a plush model and a really strong three-end fleece machine where plating is really important."
