Shanghai - The 19th International Exhibition on Textile Industry - ShanghaiTex 2019 - opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre yesterday under the theme of 'Smarter Textile Better Life'.

The show, which covers nine exhibition halls with a total area of 100,000 square metres, has gathered more than 1,200 international exhibitors to showcase the latest innovations in textile technology and machinery, including knitting and hosiery, spinning/man-made fibre, weaving, digital printing and dyeing and finishing.

Alongside the exhibition, Shanghaitex is featuring a range of other events and seminars with topics ranging from Artificial Intelligence and Wearable Technology to Start Up in the newly established Textech Galaxy.

Also, following the success of previous edition, The 2nd Shanghai International Textile Intelligent Manufacturing Forum will cover the entire textile supply chain and showcase the latest AI textile products, adding new elements to the show.

The 2nd Artificial Intelligence on Fashion & Textile International Conference (AIFT 2019) will also take place.

The exhibition will also play host to more than 20 international associations and buyer delegations including Taiwan Textile Federation, Indonesian Textile Industries Association, Malaysian Knitting Manufacturers Association, Russian Textile Association, South Korean Buyer Delegation and the Ukrainian Buyer Delegation.

The Chinese associations and delegations in attendance include Hang Zhou Garment Industry Association, Zhejiang Cotton Textile Association, Yuhang Textile, Natong Teijin, Luthai Textile and Sunrise Group.
