Global yarn production increased in the second quarter of 2013 as a result of higher output in Asia, North and South America, according to new figures released by the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF).

Recycled and organic knits from Continental Clothing
?Continental Clothing, which designs, manufactures and sells wholesale to the imprintables industry, has launched its new certified range of ?Salvage? clothing and knitwear made from 60 per cent recycled organic cotton and 40 per cent recycled polyester ? which is being claimed as a first for the global textile industry.

The printed ETLG is a 100 + page ?A5 booklet designed for manufacturers, retailers and?buyers who are committed to reducing the impact of textiles on the environment and?lists all the labels and environmental standards relevant to the global textile and clothing supply chain.
As well as covering raw materials, the 2014 edition of?ETLG will offer information on social criteria, such as Fairtrade, Fair labour, SA8000 etc., and textile processing?standards.
New additions will also include information on water standards,?energy use,?and sections on disposal and biodegradability.
