Istanbul - Warp knitting machine builder Karl Mayer will be targeting producers of home textiles and functional clothing when it exhibits at this April's ITM exhibition in Istanbul.

Scheduled for 14 to 17 April 2018 at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center in Istanbul Karl Mayer says it has prepared a machine show and a number of decorative islands to illustrate a variety of applications. The main focuses of these platforms, which are intended to generate new ideas, are lace fabrics for lingerie and clothing, terry goods made from polyester and cotton, warp-knitted spacer textiles and plush articles.

The main focus of the machine presentation will be the latest HKS 3-M tricot machine producing net curtains.

Fabrics knitted on the HKS 3-M model are said to offer a number of advantages over woven fabrics including increased stability. This machine is described as one of the most flexible and versatile machines in Karl Mayer's product portfolio. This efficient, high-speed tricot machine features a specific knitting motion and special knitting elements, and can produce very fine as well as very chunky knitted constructions. This tricot machine can also work a wide range of different lappings and a variety of products.

The HKS-3M was also changed over to incorporated components made from carbon fire reinforced plastic prior to ITMA 2007, increasing its flexibility during production and knitting speeds. Integrating this lightweight material into the machine has enabled its speed to be increased by as much as 35% compared to the previous model.

The temperature stability of the machine has also been increased significantly. At a working width of 218 ins, for example, in fluctuating climate conditions and at high speeds, Karl Mayer says the HKS 3-M is still capable of offering maximum operating reliability and accuracy.

Also on show will be Karl Mayer's technology for warp preparation for the denim sector, and from Karl Mayer Technische Textilien GmbH, the latest systems for the composites and building sectors.

The Karl Mayer booth can be found in hall 7, stand 709.
