WINSTON-SALEM - Activewear giant HanesBrands has reported a 12% decrease in net sales for its fourth quarter, hurt by the divestment of some of its US hosiery operations and a challenging sales environment.

Overall, net sales were US$1.3 billion, down from $1.47 billion while income from continuing operations was approximately $78 million compared to a loss from continuing operations of $418 million last year.
