Frankfurt - Imports of knitting machines to Uzbekistan look set to rise following an agreement between the country's main industry trade body and the VDMA.

As far as knitting machinery is concerned, circular knitting technology has been most in demand from Uzbek textile firms in recent years. Over the last five years, the level of investment has grown in significantly with purchases of large diameter circular knitting machines amounting to ?417,000 in 2010 but increasing to ?1.09 million in 2012 and ?2.24 million in 2013.
