hempPortland - A series of trials of hemp-based Crailar has shown a possible expansion of end uses of the organic bast fibre to include both heavier knits such as socks and fleece as well as finer knits such as t-shirts.

As well as confirming the effectiveness of the Crailar process on hemp as well as other bast fibres such as flax, Naturally Advanced Technologies said the trails illustrated the ability of Crailar fibres to be spun to commercial grade yarns with counts as high as 20/1 and blends of up to 50% Crailar.
