Winston-Salem - Despite sales slipping 5% activewear giant Hanesbrands has swung to a profit in its third quarter, helped by stronger international sales.

Net income for the quarter was US$29.9 million, up from a loss of $38.8 million in the same period last year while sales dipped 2.5% to $937 million, impacted by the divestment of the company’s US sheer hosiery business.
