Yiwu - The upcoming edition of Yiwutex, which was scheduled to take place in June has been postponed until May 2023 following the recent introduction of Covid-restrictions in China.
The Zhejiang International Trade Fair for Textile and Garment Industry (also known as ZhejiangTex) has been successfully held for 20 editions and has accumulated rich network of resources, a large customer base and high market value.
Following the tightening of Covid-19 measures in Shanghai and other areas of China, the 2022 edition, which has been renamed as The 22nd China Yiwu International Trade Fair for Functional Yarn & Knitting & Hosiery Machinery (YIWUTEX) and The 11th China Yiwu International Trade Fair for Sewing & Digital Printing Machinery (YIWUSEW) will now be held at the Yiwu International Expo Centre from 10-12 May 2023.
The show, which is jointly organized by Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. and Yiwu China Commodity City Exhibition Co., Ltd. will present two thematic zones catering to knitting, garment & printing industries, including an exhibition on Functional Yarn & Knitting & Hosiery Machinery, and an exhibition on Sewing & Digital Printing Machinery.
It will be held under the theme of Smart Production for New Textile Vitality and will focus on digital high-tech knitting and clothing equipment, developing advantages for the knitting industrial cluster in Yiwu, and empowering the industry with innovative technologies.
The knitting and hosiery industries in Zhejiang has benefited from significant support from the Chinese government. At the end of 2020, there were 1,225 knitting manufacturing enterprises in the region with a focus on the sock and seamless clothing sectors.
This industrial cluster generated an operating revenue of RMB 33.6 billion in 2021 with major products accounting for 80 per cent of the domestic market share and 25 per cent of the export market.
Later this year, the organisers are hoping to hold a Seamless Garment and Hosiery Technology Forum at the end of the year. Further details will be announced shortly.
